How we upgraded the Docket Management app from Codeigniter to Laravel, solved existing issues and upgraded to latest PHP version.
The original application was built using the PHP CodeIgniter framework. Since CodeIgniter is an older framework, the application faced several issues that were impacting the application’s performance and user experience. Servvian requested a migration to the PHP Laravel framework to ensure better performance, stability, and scalability.
We migrated their codebase from CodeIgniter to Laravel and the latest PHP version, ensuring the new application would replicate the original functionality and appearance while resolving the existing issues.
Each module was carefully redeveloped to align with Servvian’s requirements, maintaining the same user experience and operational capabilities as the original web application. This migration not only addressed the existing issues but also provided a more stable and scalable foundation for future enhancements. The following modules were developed:
Docket Management
Tracking all cases and legal matters handled by the law firm, organizing and managing various dockets to ensure deadlines are met and all necessary documentation is in order.
Employee Attendance
Tracking employee attendance, ensuring accountability for work hours, including check-in/check-out & leave management.
Time Logging
Crucial for billing and productivity analysis, tracking time spent by employees on various tasks and cases, including time tracking, and billable hours.
Reports
Providing detailed insights into various aspects of the law firm's operations, including financial reports and employee performance reports.
Activity Logs
Maintaining a transparent and accountable work environment, recording all significant activities performed within the system.
Cost Module
Tracking and managing expenses incurred by the law firm, including Expense Tracking, Budget Management, and Cost Analysis
